Captain V and Tobias followed the diminutive Rooka before them. She walked with a slow, regal pace and led them to an encampment. There were a few solid stone surfaces and V could not see any entrances that he would be able to go into the structures, if there were even hollow inside. His question was answered when suddenly they stopped before one of the structures and the stone began shifting to create an entry for them. When the stone finished shifting, the opening was about three feet tall.

Lady Kree walked through with grace and motioned for them to follow. Tobias sighed but began to get down on his paws and knees to crawl through the opening. He just barely managed to squeeze through the narrow opening. When Tobias was far enough in, Captain V shook his head but began to follow him through the opening. Tobias came out the other side into a cavernous room with hay roosts lining the walls. In the center was a large vent opening up out of the ground letting steam into the room to keep it warm and a bit humid for the inhabitants. Lady Kree saw that Tobias was still on his knees and couldn’t help herself,
“Oh there is no need to kneel before me! You can stand up. Please stand up. Oh my!”
“Thank you.” Tobias responded, trying to keep his composure.
Captain V came through as well and stood up as quickly as he could at Lady Kree’s comment.
“Please, please take a seat.” She gestured to a few stone chairs rising up out of the ground before her. Lady Kree also took a seat upon a higher and more ornate chair that rose up to meet V and Tobias at eye level. Next to her chair, the stone before to form various arms that began gathering supplies for tea. She formed cups out of stone and started to set a table for them.
“So why have you come to see me?”
“Well,” Tobias took the initiative, “I hear you have also been dealing with a curse, if i may be so forward.”
“Oh a curse! Ahahaha, some could say, some could say,” She said with a laugh, “I just have discerning taste! What’s a third husband.”
“I am sorry, what?” asked Tobias in confusion.
“Well, you see. I was a married woman, but I’ve already gone through three because they just can’t handle me! Some have called it a curse on our lands, others say it’s just me.” Her eye twitched for a second before she smiled at them and asked, “Tea?”
“I would love some tea.”
She began to pour a cup for Tobias but her jittery hands made her spill over onto the stone table.
Tobias caught her hands and steadied them,” Why don’t I serve?”
Lady Kree nodded and let him take over while she answered his question.

“We haven’t had too much trouble just a bit of difficulty growing food and the wildlife is starting to become strange.”
“Strange how?”
“Powerful. Creatures that could normally never bound over the walls of our village now seem to be able to fly!”
“That seems like a big problem.”
“Yes! One of my students says they saw a large two-legged dog, run and scale the wall as if it was sticking to it. When they attached it from atop the wall it fell and scurried into the forest and we haven’t seen or heard it again.”
“A two-legged dog?”
“Yes, walking on his hind legs.”
V spoke up, “Did it look like him him,” he gestured to Tobias, “only a dog version?”
“These are strange creatures. Different than MyrRin. That is why some have said there is a curse on these lands! But no, it is just my love life that is cursed. Do you like your tea?”
“Yes!”
“Are you feeling it yet?”
“What?”
“Just kidding! Heehee! Seeing as this is most likely my last Festival I want to have a bit of fun!”
“Ah, it is my first time in a long while. I was only a child the last time I came here and I wasn’t allowed to take part in all the festivities.”
Lady Kree leaned forward to speak.
“Your kind isn’t normally seen at the Festival.”
“Ah yes, I’ve been traveling for a bit and this was the last stop.”
“I have heard that your tribe has fallen into a bit of disarray.”
“A bit. Yes. That is partly why I am here, to see if your curse had something in common with ours.”

“Ah yes, us lesser MyrRin must stick together.”
“There are no lesser among the MyrRin.”
“Those in charge would disagree. Us, you and a handfull of other tribes are all considered lesser now. If you are looking to assist us, you should visit our home of Yook-Teah. It is south of here, past the mountains.”
“Is there someone we can speak to there who might have seen them?”
“There is one crazy Rooka there named Caw, who claims to have seen them. You can speak to him.”
Captain V spoke up here, “Is there some sort of compensation we could get for this service?” Ever the business man.
“Well what would you like? Tea?”
Tobias interjected, “More like cooperation. A promise of help in case we might need it at some later time and a promise to work together.”
“Ah I like this bargaining. Free is good for the Rooka! So will you two boys be spending the night?” Here eyes gleamed with mischief.
“Ah no, I have a cart to watch over and food to prepare. You can stay if you’d like V.”
“Ah, I paid for lodging elsewhere but thank ya.”
“There will be plenty of time for that later eh.”
“Ah yes, that’s right! I hope to see you at the end of the festival then!”
The two begin to make their way out of the stone structure with Lady Kree watching them leave with avid interest.
Tobias leaves through a door that is fitted to his size, but when V went to step through the exit shrunk back to the three foot space from earlier. He looked back at Lady Kree and she smiled at him.
“Looks like you’re gonna have to crawl out.”
V shuddered a bit and turned to exit with a bright blue blush on his face. He got to the other side knowing she was staring at his behind the entire time. When he exited the exit closed up immediately and the two wasted no time in leaving the strange encampment. Tobias had the promise of cooperation and shared information and V had the promise of whatever happened at the end of the Festival and Lady Kree’s uncomfortable advances. Together they made their way back to the group through the crowds.
