High above, Drexla didn’t notice anything bigger than a scroll or piece of jewelry. They were all items. She didn’t really see a person with a magical signature of their own. What she did see was certain of the MyrRin tribes had a faint glow about them, but nothing arcane. The Rooka glowed a faint green and their flying counterparts gave of a slight sparking blue. There were a couple more, but not what Drexla was looking for. She also noticed that many of the wealthy Tuskari wore many rings and jewelry that all gave off the reading of magic. She also noticed that some, not all, but a few of the Tuskari glowed with power themselves. They had learned to cast arcane magic, but there weren’t many.

Drexla scoured the crowds below and the stalls. She was looking for an item that had power but was easily taken. She wanted to be able to snatch it with her grappler attachment for the gauntlet she wore. Below she spotted the perfect quarry. A scroll stall with many available for the taking. She scoped it out for a bit. After waiting for a few moments until the shopkeeper had his back turned, she released her grappler and managed to ensnare the scroll in her hook without damaging it. She went to tug on it so she could abscond but encountered resistance.
Below, the vendor of the scroll stall had his hand around the floating scroll and was inspecting the thin line of rope that connected it to Drexla.
“What in the… what the hell is this?!”
The vendor tugged at the strong hoping to take his scroll back. He could not see what was at the other end of the thin rope, but he could not lose his livelihood. Drexla had to think fast so she tweaked her gauntlet’s settings to give her more strength in exchange for some of her intelligence. She felt the gauntlet take and give what she needed and pulled back on the rope, eager to get her hands on the prize. All she needed was one big tug and the scroll went flying out of the vendor’s hands and up into the dark night sky.
Drexla left the vendor behind, cursing and yelling about the weirdness of events that had transpired. She zoomed through the darkness clutching the scroll to her as she flew. It was nearly as large as she was, but she was so proud to have been able to pull of the heist. The group in the distance saw her come back with a smirk of triumph on her face and a large piece of parchment. The darkness was a great ally in getting back to her group without being spotted and caught.
Once she was safely back at camp, she looked over what she had acquired. It was a scroll of hot hands, meant to enflame the hands of the caster to great effect. Within her makeshift workshop atop the cart, she developed another great idea. She wanted to engineer a device that the scroll could inform and be used to create the ability to cast at a distance. It could definitely come in handy in a pinch. Drexla lost herself in the crafting of her new piece of technology.
Luna and Tobias were sharing amicable conversation when they realized a hooded figure had approached them without announcing themselves and so silently that they had barely now registered their presence. It was an unnerving feeling to be snuck up on. The hooded figure was dressed in dark clothing with dark robes and a pack for light travel. This person, they realized, was not MyrRin, he was a Hume. He was also extremely rude as he thrust a piece of parchment towards them with something crudely drawn on it. It was little better than a stick figure with fly wings. Luna knew it meant Drexla but was the first to deny seeing the creature.

“No, haven’t seen it.”
A long pause followed.
“Thank you!”
Without another word, the figure turned to leave.
“Have a great night!” Tobias called out after him.
They watched as he moved on and before their eyes there were three or more of the same dressed person congregating to speak before breaking off into the crowd and a practiced, methodical way. Luna and Tobias had not noticed the others, so it was disconcerting to know there were more of that odd fellow looking for Drexla. One of them stalked over to Bogbean and demanded the same question of her. This piece of parchment was different, the drawing was more menacing with bared fangs and added claws. They seemed to be unsure of what their quarry looked like. Bogbean looked the person over and assessed their danger to her.
She could sense that they were predators on the search for their prey. They were dangerous and well prepared for any situation. Bogbean had briefly entertained the notion of fighting the Humes and disposing of them for Drexla but all she needed was one look to know she could not do that with this one. She would not win. Not only was he stronger, but his friends outnumbered hers, so it was a bad fight for her. All she could sense was anger and hatred rolling off these people in waves. They were were upset at their prey. Drexla. Bogbean also immediately denied having seen Drexla and after a few tense moments of scrutiny, the man left. She could also see them hooded figures flitting around the crowd, coming together and seeming to split off to cover the most ground they could.
In the distance, the group could still hear them asking,
“Do you know this thing?”
“Have you seen this thing?”
It seemed like they would be left wanted when a young Mir’Sha male came running through the crowd yelling for help,
“Has anyone seen a flying scroll? Anyone?”
No one said anything, even the group of travelers, who had seen Drexla zip into her lair atop the cart. He ran past still clamoring about a flying scroll. She was safely ensconced in her workshop, doodling away and having a merry old time with her new acquisition. The group breathed a sigh of relief and went back to their post dinner talking. Tobias asked Luna if she would accompany him to purchase more supplies for his cart to open tomorrow.
The walked around for a bit before finding a vendor of raw supplies. There were baskets of various high quality greens waiting to be purchased. Tobias approached the stall and the vendor turned to her next customer. When it was his turn he asked,
“Excuse me miss, may I inquire about your prices?”
Without looking the woman turned to greet him with a smile.
“Welcome! What can i help you…” she trailed off, “oh. Yes what can I do for you.”
Her entire demeanor had changed. Warmth turned to icy cold.
“I am looking to purchase some produce today to sell for my business tomorrow.”
“Well, how much do you got?
“Enough to cover what I need.”
“Which is?”
Tobias just looked at her in confusion.
“One of these finer baskets starts at fifty gold.” She waved over to some of her prized goods.
Luna saw the swindle occurring and could not let Tobias spend that much. She began to pull him away.
“Excuse us, we’ll be right back.”
“The price will still be the same!” The vendor called out after them.
Tobias followed Luna off a ways before they spoke.
“Why don’t you let me try to purchase the items?”
“I believe if you went down there she would give you the same price now that she saw us together.”

“Well, we could get one of our friends to purchase the items.”
“That might work.”
“Alright then. What do you need.”
Just the basics.”
“Write up a list and we’ll give it to V so he can purchase the items.”
Tobias nodded his agreement and they went in search of V to assist with the purchase of goods. Luna approached him with her plan.
“Hello! Sorry to bother you, but have you noticed how our Rhomar friend gets a bit of side eye every time he tries to interact with people?”
“Yea, I had noticed.” Replied V with a chuckle.
“If he wrote down a list of items to purchase, would you kindly purchase them for him? With his money of course.”
“Well, if it’s with his money. We can use his money.”
“Thank you. The purchase needs to be made alone so no one sees you with him and jacks up the prices.”
“Yes,” added Tobias, “The others are on my team, and the little one seems to be a fugitive.”
V agreed to the deal and Tobias agreed to reimburse him after the purchase was made. With that settles he turned and made his way towards the stall they pointed him to. The vendor turned to him as he approached her stall.
“Oh you’re a unique one! What can I help you with?”
“Well, I’ve got a list of items to purchase.”
“Ah, just hand me your list and I’ll get it right for you.”
V handed it over and waited while she retrieved the goods.
“You know what, I’ll throw in a little extra for you.” She said with a wink.
“Why thank you!”
“You know what. Since I haven’t seen one like you before, two gold for the lot.”
“That’s mighty kind of you.”
“Thank you for your business and enjoy!”
She handed him the produce after the purchase and waved him off. V departed and came back to the group with a giant smirk on his face. His arms were overflowing with the produce he had purchased. Tobias smiled as well upon seeing the abundant ingredients. He turned to settle the reimbursement with V.
“Thank you for this! How much do I owe you.”
“It was tough, she was a hard bargainer,” V played it up, “it coast thirty gold after everything!”
Tobias looked closely at V to see if he was telling him the truth for a moment, but detected no untruth. V was really good at lying.
“Well, I’m glad she didn’t charge you as much as she wanted to charge me. Here you go.”
He handed over thirty shiny gold pieced to V for his troubles.
The evening was passing and the group began to settle down for the night. They prepared their bed rolls around the fire in front of the cart. Bogbean foraged a bit before bed, finding some good herbs and berries for use. Drexla was a bit busy but did realize, before bed, that Miguel was gone. It was another problem for tomorrow and they vowed to look for him in the morning. Everyone had had a great first day at the festival and were looking forward to tomorrow’s adventure.
