Dear Journal, 10th of Nariza, 795 AC
Today was horrid. We found a dead Mir’Sha in one of the homes in their camp as we were searching for the Mr. Peepers that Bogbean had seen. She could see him but no one else could. Drexla had only noticed because a random window opened and closed as if of its own accord. How unfortunate for us.

I did not look inside, the morbid red mist on the inside of the window was enough for me to understand what it must look like inside. I almost wish Drexla hadn’t noticed what she did. Now we could all be implicated in the murder. Tobias is right though. We need to let the Mir’Sha leaders know. We would look a lot worse if we slunk out without saying anything and the body is found later. What if someone saw us there or nearby? Hopefully, they believe that it wasn’t us. Perhaps they will if Ella helps corroborate our story.
What is this thing? I’m becoming increasingly worried that we might not be able to fight it. We are largely ineffective against it. More importantly, I wonder what it wants with the child, Ella, I don’t like its interest in her. I’m dreading this coming meeting with the elders and hope they show some common sense and see we are innocent. It is a tough gamble but our honesty should be able to be sensed by the beast folk. They would smell it if we were here with nefarious intent, right?
