The group left the chief’s tent in somber silence. No one spoke as they made their way out of the Mir’Sha area. It was eerily quiet as they left. Bricky has lots of questions about the sword Bogbean had and how she got it. He worked up the courage as they walked.
“Bogbean,” Bricky broached the delicate subject, “Did you know zhat your mozher vas much more zhan zhat?”
“no we kinda lived by ourselves. on da outskirts of town. we made what we could to eat and survive.”

“Vell ,that is interesting. I did not realize how you came about such a veapon.”
“yea it was under her bed. i knew she had a good hiding spot so i looked everywhere. it was in the floor under her bed. so amazing!”
They had made sure to let the guard know on their way out, of the situation in the bloody house they had just left. It was difficult to explain how they came about this information without having done it themselves but the fact that the chief had not called for guards during the meeting spoke much for them. So, they were allowed to leave.
“Vell, I vill say, I fell like I got off lightly. Considering, the prowess of zhis creature und all.”
“How do we fight something that hides in dreams though?” Luna asked.
“I don’t know vhat dreams are. So I do not know.” Bricky explained.
“Ah, well for most people, when we close our eyes for the night we see things sometimes. We can see a lot when we dream.”
“I sometimes see images, ja, but I cannot sleep you see. We Genahte cannot sleep per se, ve only slow down, ve never stop. As long as zhere is vork to do, ve cannot stop.”
“It only take damage from magical attacks.” V noted.
“We think it is a dream. So, I don’t believe we can hurt it with a physical weapon.” Tobias agreed.
“Well magic are just dreams made reality in essence so it would make sense only magic could hurt it.” Luna added.
“Well, I do know that it is a dream made real. Quite literally.” Tobias confirmed.
“Zhen zhat vould make Ella responsible no?” Bricky asked the group.
“She is just a little girl. We are not going to blame a child for this.” Tobias was firm.
“She did mention she wished for a friend. Perhaps that’s how the creature came through to this world.” Luna conjectured.
“Maybe she could take us with her into her dreams or something so we can fight this thing there.” Drexla pondered.
“I don’t think she knows how to do that.” Tobias confirmed.
“She also doesn’t trust us.” Luna added.
“Vell, ze good doctor vould say to cut the strings at the joint so zhey cannot control anyzhing else, but how? If we did, it would come immediately to investigate.”
“Well, its probably not far off already.” Tobias offered.
“If nothing else, we could always bait it out with Bogbean.” V said.
Tobias shook his head at the thought but focused inward to sense what he could in the area. Right away he knew there was something wrong. The are was bleeding through with Dream energy. The dreamscape seemed to be seeping through into the waking world in the Mir’Sha camp. It wasn’t a lot yet, but soon if left unchecked, it would grow until more could come through.

The group kept walking through the festival grounds towards the center. After about a half an hour of wandering they come across Sodia’s caravan wagon. Even alone, managing shop was no hard task for Sodia. Her wagon was surrounded with patrons, each clamoring for her attention. She handled them expertly, remembering when each had arrived and dealing with them in order so no one felt they were being ignored. She handed out parcels while accepting gold and counting it for accuracy with such smooth grace.
“Hallo Sodia!” Bricky cried out over the crowd.
“Ah, give me one moment please. We are almost done here.”
After a few more minutes of handing out parcels and accepting payment, Sodia raised her padded paw and got everyone’s attention.
“That is all for today folks. Please come back after the fights. I need a bit to sell for later so come on back if you did not yet get your chance! Tomorrow we will have more to sell. Tomorrow, tomorrow!”
Sodia spent a few moments after the crowd dispersed cleaning up her counter and closing up for the evening.
“Well, some of you are looking a little worse for wear, but you are all still here! You still have all your hands and feet.” She said the last part with a knowing glint in her eyes.
“So where is Naz?” Tobias asked, trying to act casual.”
“”Oh he’s off somewhere, I’m sure, with a bottle of booze in one hand and a girl in the other.”
“So nowhere around here eh?”
“Ah, from what I understood, he took his wagon out of town quite a ways. He wanted to be alone for a while.”
“I see.”
“Don’t worry. He get’s this way sometimes. A few days and a few women later and he’ll be back to his old self. His friend, on the other hand.. uh.. hand, that’s going to be a bit more trouble. That is what they signed up for though. Now, keep this between you and I, but I did make quite a bit of gold on my wager for you, so you made the long trip quite worth it. Are you participating in the next round of fights?”
“Yes, we are continuing on.”
” Well, it will be very good to see you fighting again.”
“Thank you. I wanted to bring a box of sweets, to Naz and his group..”
“Oh, so you wanted to rub it in?”
“No, no, I wanted to thank them for the honor of fighting them.”
“I don’t think they agree.” V interjected.
“You can call it what you want, but I would recommend against that. I see the gesture but I don’t think his outlook on you is going to change no matter how many sweets you give him dear.”
“I know, I just thought I could change his mind a little by honoring his prowess in battle.”
“I don’t think it will have the intended effect.”

“Take them still. If you think he would stomp them into the ground then enjoy them yourself.”
“Are they vegetarian?”
“For you, always.”
Sodia looked at the box with avid interest before opening it up and beginning to pop them into her mouth.
“These are so delicious!” She said between mouthfuls. “It really will be a shame when you are no longer traveling with the caravan.”
“Yes, but until then, I will try to make some extras for you.”
“Oh that would be great, thank you! If you don’t mind, I will be taking a rest now. After all that selling, I need a bit of time and would like to observe the fights tonight.”
“We will do our best to put on a good show.”
“Thank you, thank you, hehe.”
Drexla asked if the Tuskari that had lost his hands would be interested in replacements built by her. Sodia did not know and told her she should consult with the Tuskari that had lost his hand. He was not her employee, just a friend of her son’s. She explained that although she had some great connections in her dealings as a merchant, she was not part of the governing body of the Tuskari and carried no authority to act on their behalf. Nevertheless she would not pass on the information, thinking it was too soon to speak about his limbs.
The group walked off after making their awkward goodbyes with Drexla still insisting she could help with the right limb replacements. Arguing and debating amongst themselves, they made their way over the arena for the next fights of the festival. They all wondered who they would face next and if they could hold their own.
