Coming Back

Aleera was carried by the remaining members of the Hand of Destiny through the city streets towards the simple bench to Bahamut. Kariss had managed to cast Gentle Repose on the body which had started to turn to ash almost immediately. They arrived at the simple bench and laid Aleera’s body down on the soft, worn wood. For a moment, silence reigned as they tried to figure out what to do. Kariss did not have a resurrection spell prepared to save her life. She thought she might be able to attune to Aleera’s lute and cast one that way but that would take time.  … More Coming Back

Fighting Apart

Getting separated in a fight is scary enough, especially at low levels when one well placed hit can mean the difference between life and death. To enter into two different fights separately, on purpose is almost inconceivable but we do it. Just recently, in a past session, our party fought in two separate areas as we tried to achieve results at the same time. It can be done but not without a fair amount of pain. … More Fighting Apart

Miniature Showcase

This fully primed miniature is the daughter of a powerful necromancer. She almost died and her father could only save her head. Her body has decayed and left her with nothing but bones kept together with magic. She is a powerful foe in her own right with access to her own bevy of necromantic spells. … More Miniature Showcase

Broken Pacts

The Hand of Destiny awoke to a gloomy morning. There was little to be grateful for. Not only did they need to find a way to break the children out of the demonic contract they had been included in, but there were new charges being brought against Laeral that needed to be addressed by the Magistrate and council. The morning was fraught with decisions over what to do and how to remove the children from the contract with Asmodeus.  … More Broken Pacts

To Metagame or not to Metagame?

That is the question. To some degree we all have to ignore certain truths that exist IRL, in real life, to adapt to a fantasy based tabletop game like D&D. Our own table is made of an eclectic group of people and we all deal with metagaming differently. Some of us immerse completely into the world and are able to mitigate much of our metagaming but others actively or unconsciously do so. … More To Metagame or not to Metagame?

Miniature Showcase

This miniature showcase is for a Player Character’s miniature. Our very own Kariss Rass’Than, Warlock Cleric of Bahamut, Scion of Aqua’s Blessing of Water and, at the end of our campaign, became the Goddess of Aspiration. This was her final form, she had about three miniatures throughout the whole campaign to show her growth and progress. This is what it looked like pre primer coatings. … More Miniature Showcase

Facing the Cult of Asmodeus

The next day, the party woke up, had breakfast and headed out to the Magister’s office to follow up on the Cassalanter problem. Things didn’t go the way they planned. Instead of being taken at their word, they were held in the temporary holding cells until the Magister could confirm the truth of their stories. They were getting really tired of the delays to their missions because of the slow wheels of bureaucracy. … More Facing the Cult of Asmodeus

When a Player Dies

Character deaths are one of the worst things that can happen to a player. We can get attached to our creations, especially if they’ve been with us for a while. To see them die, truly die not just fall unconscious is horrifying. Three failed deaths saves and the only thing that can bring you back is a resurrection spell, dead. Our last campaign was fraught with near misses and many falls to unconsciousness. There were also a couple of death experiences that changed our characters forever. … More When a Player Dies
