Broken Pacts

The Hand of Destiny awoke to a gloomy morning. There was little to be grateful for. Not only did they need to find a way to break the children out of the demonic contract they had been included in, but there were new charges being brought against Laeral that needed to be addressed by the Magistrate and council. The morning was fraught with decisions over what to do and how to remove the children from the contract with Asmodeus.  … More Broken Pacts

To Metagame or not to Metagame?

That is the question. To some degree we all have to ignore certain truths that exist IRL, in real life, to adapt to a fantasy based tabletop game like D&D. Our own table is made of an eclectic group of people and we all deal with metagaming differently. Some of us immerse completely into the world and are able to mitigate much of our metagaming but others actively or unconsciously do so. … More To Metagame or not to Metagame?

Miniature Showcase

This miniature showcase is for a Player Character’s miniature. Our very own Kariss Rass’Than, Warlock Cleric of Bahamut, Scion of Aqua’s Blessing of Water and, at the end of our campaign, became the Goddess of Aspiration. This was her final form, she had about three miniatures throughout the whole campaign to show her growth and progress. This is what it looked like pre primer coatings. … More Miniature Showcase

Facing the Cult of Asmodeus

The next day, the party woke up, had breakfast and headed out to the Magister’s office to follow up on the Cassalanter problem. Things didn’t go the way they planned. Instead of being taken at their word, they were held in the temporary holding cells until the Magister could confirm the truth of their stories. They were getting really tired of the delays to their missions because of the slow wheels of bureaucracy. … More Facing the Cult of Asmodeus

When a Player Dies

Character deaths are one of the worst things that can happen to a player. We can get attached to our creations, especially if they’ve been with us for a while. To see them die, truly die not just fall unconscious is horrifying. Three failed deaths saves and the only thing that can bring you back is a resurrection spell, dead. Our last campaign was fraught with near misses and many falls to unconsciousness. There were also a couple of death experiences that changed our characters forever. … More When a Player Dies

Miniature Showcase

Null played a big part in our last campaign. He was the culmination of personal stories and quests for some of our party. I painted this miniature for the final confrontation with Null. Before this encounter, we had only seen Null’s aspects on the Prime Material plane. This was his true and final form. The miniature itself is pretty simple. An undead dragon with decaying wings. … More Miniature Showcase

Contract With A Devil

Stuck in the bathroom with the party still swinging outside, the party went over their options and found none. They were trapped in the bathroom. Aleera looked around for a moment before a sly smile came over her face. She asked the others to step away from the center of the room and when they were clear she changed, using her necklace, into a robe with multicolored patches on it. With a swift move, she removed one of the patches and dropped in the center of the bathroom.  … More Contract With A Devil

Why Not Split the Party?

I understand the extra complications that come with splitting a party, especially for the DM themselves. In our previous campaign we didn’t split up often. Without a strong, beefy frontline, our party couldn’t really afford to move too far away from each other. In our new campaign however, our current party is finding it so useful to split up sometimes. Our new adventure is starting out in a survival based setting that requires preparation and sometimes that means doing two things at once. … More Why Not Split the Party?

Miniature Showcase

I love the way blue Dragons are depicted in the official books and I wanted to recreate that as best as possible. I started with a vibrant blue to cover the majority of the miniature. My husband and Dungeon Master has always loved Dragons and I wanted to put in some extra to make this one look as realistic as possible. … More Miniature Showcase

Crashing the Party

When Aleera made it back to the Spectre’s Respite, their home base, she immediately informed the party of the situation and they headed to the government offices to see what they could do. The Magistrate took a quick look at the papers Aleera had brought with her as proof. They included the flyer for the party and the contract signed in the blood of both heads of the family. After a moment’s study, the Magistrate looked down his glasses at them and asked what they wanted him to do. There was magic in the paper of the contract but that could be anything and magic usually was used to preserve important sheets.  … More Crashing the Party
