An Unexpected Turn of Events

The morning found the party scattered and bewildered. Aleera made her way back to the camp without bothering to brush the leaves and nettles from her clothes. Kariss waited by the Tiny Hut, just waiting for it to drop. Inside the others had also had restless nights.

When the Hut finally disappeared everyone was avoiding looking at each other. Kariss started off the conversation by exploding at Kaladrax. … More An Unexpected Turn of Events

Secrets and Revelations

The second mission was completed. The Hand of Destiny now had two of the blessings. Now there were only the Blessing of Earth and Blessing of Fire. They were the hardest to acquire. The party was at the top of the tallest mountain surrounding the desert. They made sure the lone old Aarakocra priest had enough food and care before they moved on. … More Secrets and Revelations

Hepolita’s Adventure

While the party was off around the island recovering the blessings, Hepolita was taking care of her own mission. After her run-ins with the members of the Baleard Crest Gang she had come clean with the party. She had confessed that she was on hire for the gang as part of a contract she had signed. The contract was just vague enough that, until she fulfilled the primary obligation, she was little more than a slave to their commands. Her primary obligation was to find the source of power that allowed Milo to come and go through doors as he pleased. They didn’t know that it was actually Asterisk’s magic allowing Milo to travel to and from the store. … More Hepolita’s Adventure

The Blessing of Aero

The Hand of Destiny woke up with the heat of the morning, desert sun in their faces as the Tiny Hut disappeared. As they woke up and wandered around the newly freed Oasis, Kaladrax noticed the amber jewel sitting among jugs and glasses on a delicate table. He picked it up, looked at it and then off into the distance towards the mountains. He sat down on the dainty chairs around the table. The worked iron creaked under his weight. He opened up the primordial book as he ate breakfast with the others. … More The Blessing of Aero

Battle of the Healing Waters

After recovering from the physical toll that traversing the sandstorm had taken on the party, they continued forward into the burning desert. They traveled for endless miles. Their only comfort was in Kaladrax’s use of the way stone that Kitu had given them. It glowed a light blue when pointed in the right direction. They were on their way, the storm far behind them, when a low rumbling started beneath their feet. … More Battle of the Healing Waters

Sandstorms and Daisy Chains

The Hand of Destiny spent the night camped out on the beach a little ways in front of the town of Lumishire. It was a coastal town, more like a small village really, that relied heavily on it’s fishing and sea diving sectors. In the morning, after a surprisingly restful night, the party bypassed the small cluster of huts and made directly for the Oasis. The party did realize that Hepolita was not with them when they awoke but without being able to locate her they had to move on. … More Sandstorms and Daisy Chains

The Blessing of Aqua

The Hand of Destiny headed out after that unfortunate meeting with Percival Tindoll over the exclusive use of their ale over that of Kaladrax’s family. Their departure was not a happy one but once the group was in the air, in the form of vapors, all such earthly thoughts disappeared. The flight was like no other. They had to focus on keeping themselves together and fight against the air currents that might break them apart. They reached Deep Harbor and headed towards the lighthouse island off the coast. The party landed inside the enormous cave on the floating rafts and focused on turning back into their corporeal forms. … More The Blessing of Aqua

Research and Revelation

The party woke up the next day with a mission in mind. They needed to get the ingredients for the panacea or the entire city of King’s Crest would die. The members of the Hand of Destiny gathered that morning to have breakfast and plan their next move. They knew where they could get the components but all of them were hard to get to right now. Urstil had spoken to Kaladrax after the Council meeting yesterday and had handed him a book she thought might be able to help. … More Research and Revelation

The Council of Siness and The Winter’s Crown Ball

The next morning was heralded by a messenger from the Council of the city to please attend a meeting later that day around noon. The letter contained an apology for the short notice and assurances that this would not be happening under normal circumstances. They had a quick breakfast before getting ready for the meeting. Hepolita had spent the morning sitting at the bar on a stool getting stupid drunk. … More The Council of Siness and The Winter’s Crown Ball

Aftermath

In the weeks that followed the city slowly succumbed to the Curse of Ash, as it had come to be called. By the next month the city was desolate. Few ever went out and when they did it was in furtive, shaky movements. The Prancing Dragon, the guild’s side business, had lost more and more clientele until only a few scattered regulars remained. One night the ladies made their way down to get the bar ready only to find that there were two regulars and Hepolita who would be drinking that night. … More Aftermath
