Ever wonder what a nightmare looks like? Well now you don’t have to. You’re welcome for the sleepless nights. This was a simple miniature but I added a few things to make it look extra evil. The skull below it is coming out of is painted in bone and covered with a shadow wash to age and make it look more sinister. The nightmare itself is painted completely in black, but I added bight crimson lines flowing through the black body of the nightmare. The ground is a changeup to hard packed dirt instead of stone to lighten it up a bit.

The red lines are not the only addition to this miniature. I also could not help but add a bit of glow to it. I added just a bit of bright orange glow paint to the eye sockets of the skulls. Under UV light this guy looks even more intimidating. This is a great, versatile miniature that can stand in for a haunting, a demonic presence, even a curse. It all depends on how you paint it. With an ethereal light green, its a ghostly thing. You can really change the use based on colors used and added details to make it more like what it needs to represent.
